H.U.T.S. (Help Us To Survive), based in Newcastle Emlyn, is absolutely delighted to announce that the National Lottery Community Fund has awarded us £100,000 over 2 years to support our telephone support service known as Call & Chat / Galwad a Sgwrsio.
The Call & Chat Project connects with individuals across the three counties who are at risk of isolation and provides companionship. The project through regular weekly phone calls steadily fosters and fortifies a sense of community.
This highly welcomed funding will enable us to expand our outreach and continue offering invaluable services to those in need.
This initiative was originally launched as an immediate response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020. It’s aim then as it is now was to combat social isolation and provide vital support to our community.
The regular positive comments and testimony of individuals who receive our service are the bedrock upon which the service is built. The recognition of the importance of this community-based scheme by the National Lottery Community Fund is both gratifying and welcome.
We sincerely thank the National Lottery Community Fund for their generous support which will empower us to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of many. Together, we can help our community thrive and ensure that everyone feels connected and supported.
